Found this little house in the middle of nowhere. The sun came out at just about the right time, so you get this kinda’ cool effect of a very bright white house and carousel horse (yes, that’s a carousel horse in the front yard — see zoom below) against a dark sky and December-dead trees.

As a kid, I remember riding my bike down lazy gravel roads and encountering these grand, almost gothic looking cast-iron bridges. Though things move slowly in the Midwest, there really aren’t many of the big bridges left. It took me about an hour of driving around to find this one. I remember this one from my youth, mostly because it’s the only colored bridge I can recall (insert joke about the lack of “colored” bridges in Indiana, if you like).

Not sure what happened, but this is what I woke up next to New Year’s morning. Ba-dum, chuck. But seriously, folks.

I saw lots of alpaca farms when I was home. Not sure what that means. Except that the price of alpaca goods is certain to drop.
