But Clinton Counts Six Times.

Who says libertarians ask too much of politicians?

Jim Henley surveys the last eleven presidents, and finds grounds for impeaching just seven of them.

That’s like, fifty percent.

Yeah. We’re not so good at math, either.

Carter gets a pass (and some sort of credit for the downfall of communism?), and Reagan gets impeached? Must be Bizarro world.

What’s the “high crimes and misdemeanors” knock on Carter? We’re not talking good or bad president here - it’s who deserved impeachment.

Hello? Are we all talking about the same Jimmy Carter? Free-market thinkers weigh in - oil embargo, Mideast conflict, Iran/hostage, continuing debate on ERA, coerced school busing (and ensuing riots), Billy Beer, fawning over brutal dictators like Fidel and Ceausescu, disco, re-emergence of the afro, and countless other misdemeanors and absurdities under his watch.

Jim Henley takes the view that Dubya lied us into war. Well, we will eventually find out if the U.S. and the British government really did make up th WMD threat, but for the time being, I am sticking to my naive reluctant pro-war stance, which is that Saddam’s behaviour for the last 20 years gave the West all the justification it needed to invade.

Mind you, it is a shame we Brits cannot impeach most of our Prime Ministers over the past 30 years for lying us into the European Union. But that’ would take a lot of blogs.
