Ah, yes, I understand, the California prision system overflowing with more non-violent drug offenders than California is able to “warehouse” so they’ve decided to lock up licenced limo drivers to add to the self inficted morass.

It costs California roughly $47,000.00 (2008) per year to “warehouse” people in prison while spending only $9,000.00 (2012) per year to educate a student.

When you’re hostile to the cops, of course they’ll never be useful to you. Certainly I don’t TRUST them, but neither am I hostile to them and they don’t know me from jack, so they’ve been useful to me in the past.

And no, of course it’s not “impossible”. The moment someone whips out a gun here, people call the police. It doesn’t matter WHERE it comes from.

The taxi/limo story made me see red.

How is it that taxi companies in particular are so successful getting governments to ensure their monopolies? I can’t think of another business so good at it other than big companies in the defense industry.

And the fact that a surcharge is put on taxi fares to cover police overtime? To enforce these rules? The taxi companies, the police, the courts, the jails, they’re all in cahoots to milk us for every dime.

A Pissy Cop, Go figure?? However what was an aggrievation and slight humiliation on your part, could well have been a life saver to another little girl (especially after the recent attempted snatching thats all over the web).. Thank God for paranoid nosey neighbors, unconstitutional surveilance camera’s, GPS cars & phones and inter city unmanned drones (there already in use in KCMO) and everything else the makes living in the 21st century so great!!

About the Port Orange story, it looks like it was the husband who called the police. It was probably his intent for his wife to be arrested.
