I wish all dogs were rescues. They need people to love and are often thought second-class to people who need to be able to brag about AKA papers.

My impression, anectdotally, is that mutts chosen from the Humane Society are better dogs than most pure breeds. Although the choice of dog – purebred, rescue, stray – may say more about the owners.
