As a welcome to Ken in particular, I should note that probably more than any other person in recent years he has helped me increase my vocabulary, especially in ways that help me more effectively tailor my own writing to middlebrow, lowbrow, and gutterbrow tastes. (Is “gutterbrow” even a word? Honey badger don’t care.) It’s only a mild exaggeration to call Ken a William F. Buckley for seamen.
