Five-Star Fridays
Friday, May 18th, 2012Radley’s first rule of roots music*: If there’s a stand-up bass, you’re probably going to have a good time. This is especially true if your stand-up bassist also rocks out like a headbanger.
(*Second rule, not applicable here: The fattest guy in the band plays the mandolin.)

In my book, it’s Fattest = Drummer ~ need a heavy anchor. Exceptions = Tommy Lee and Taylor Hawkins! Probably others.
I was in Nashville for work back in February and a bunch of went to Robert’s Western World one night. The Don Kelley Band was playing and their stand-up bass player was insanely good.
The band plays there several nights a week. If you haven’t seen them I highly recommend you check them out.
thanks, now added to my pandora shuffle.

Me like. Thanks!
Dang that’s good, I just went and bought her CD.
See, stupid media companies, that is why you should allow your stuff to be clipped onto youtube and the like.
The rest of the band seems to be having a pretty good time, too. Also – I like what you’ve done with your living room.
