I watched a movie yesterday called “Please Remove Your Shoes”. One of the notions advanced in the movie was how much better the TSA would be if it were staffed by professional law enforcement officers, presumably armed and empowered to arrest people. I think that is inevitable. I think we will look back on the current TSA and think, “Those were the good old days”. In case you haven’t noticed, government agencies are becoming ever more militarized. There is no reason to believe that won’t continue.

The agency motto will change from “Dominate. Intimidate. Control.” to “The beatings will continue until morale improves” (much more accurate than “To protect and serve”). Of course, statistics will show that there will be many fewer incidences of misbehavior by the TSA because, professional law enforcement officers are masters at avoiding complaints, consequences, and admissions of wrong doing.

Really?? Federalism is the root cause of crony capitalism? That’s an amazing conclusion. I’m sure the federal government is immune from such incentives.

If we were going to be Crusaders For Good, we should start just flat out conquering the world and having done with it. Short of that, we defend our interests and maybe take down the occasional psycho. I CERTAINLY don’t want us making decisions on foreign policy by who is nasty to others. I don’t want to live in an Imperial America.

And for those of you who think we already do, all I can say is that I fear that you haven’t seen ANYTHING. Yet.

But I expect that centuries of precedent show that “Equal protection before the law” doesn’t include cases where the law is about money.

How many experts have to complain before they change their ways?
It brings to mind the out of control DEA and how they
make a living stealing cash and property under the guise
of protecting the public. At least they get to confiscate
cash and property. TSA confiscates shampoo, nail clippers,
and scissors. All that power and no loot. How long before they take to the streets?

And I was shocked to read that the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct keeps details of its’ disciplinary hearings secret – I didn’t know they had such a thing as disciplinary hearings. Any chance we can get those for prosecutors and cops?

A wealth transfer to the rich. Goddamnit, I feel like such an angry fucking liberal right now. I need to go shoot some guns or something to counter-act this.

Yea, should have just let them all get gassed. At least Iraq never executed people.

I just tell people that you can’t be too careful. What if you get to heaven and it’s Set’Tha that runs the show there? You don’t want to take any chances with your salvation!
