"First, where on that chair could anyone hide any quantity of explosives? Maybe a pack of sugary Skittles, but … Seriously, when has a wheelchair ever blown up?"

I regularly use a walker. Last year I had to visit the local courthouse for several days. They have the metal detectors, wands, Xray machines for carry in items. They supposedly have the detectors set as sensitive as they can go after a couple of incidents where people smuggled in razor blades.
I ambled through the detector with my walker, which has a built in seat, and was wanded on my upper body. They never looked at the walker or my legs. I realized that with about 5 minutes work on the walker seat, I could have taken a full sized handgun into the courthouse and they would have been none the wiser.
This is the same security that hassled me over a box cutter when I was trying to deliver some office furniture to a judge. They quickly relented when I told them they could call the judge and tell him his stuff was sitting in the lobby.

This makes no sense to me.

Stranger Who Offered Students Ride Pleads Guilty

An Arlington Heights man charged with disorderly conduct for offering two 13-year-old girls a ride home earlier this month has pled guilty to the charges against him.

Rodney T. Peterson was arrested by Barrington Police on March 2 after driving up to the students, asking them how far they needed to go, and offering them a ride. The students told him they didn’t need his help and refused his assistance.

After the incident was reported on Barrington Patch, Peterson contacted us by submitting several comments and an announcement on our website. He also emailed editor Morgan Delack claiming his innocence in the case. Peterson said he saw the students and “God put it on my heart to offer them a ride because of the bad
weather.”

Barrington police provided evidence in court that refuted his claims stating the weather was not snowy as Peterson said. Police also said he drove down an alley to follow the students after his initial sighting of them.

Peterson is now facing a $400 fine, two years of supervision, and is prohibited from having contact with the students or their families.

<blockquote>Why do html tags never work for me on this site? Is it because I use firefox?</blockquote>

You aren't using HTML tags in your post - those are just common forum markups with brackets.

You need to use HTML tags with less-than and greater-than signs. Look at this page for examples.
