How to build a speech jamming gun. I can attest to the fact that it is almost impossible to talk when you hear your words after a delay.

Having been involved in phone conversations with a delay on the echo on several occasions, I can attest to the fact it takes less than 5 minutes to get over it and go on talking without a problem. This "speech jamming gun" is a party trick, nothing more.

“How to build a speech jamming gun.”

Saw a gadget like that at the Science Museum in San Diego some years ago. You had read some text while turning knob that would decrease the delay between your voice and playback in the headset. It did get pretty bad at some point. The “gun” tho is kinda useless. Ear plugs, duh… Or, if you really wanna be high tech, use an ANR headset.

1. Stole our jobs
2. Welfare leech
3. Refuses to assimilate

and for the Buchanan-bots that read here

etc etc etc

Such stories like that are sad. It also goes to show you that the welfare state is more to blame than the illegal is.

The thing is, the Subway ticket story is pretty much a non-story. That sort of thing happens all the time in NYC and nobody seems to care. I’m a little surprised that Gothamist even posted it.

The NYPD has been like this for a while. They’re basically a law unto themselves. They make their own rules and get pretty upset when the people’s representatives try to tell them otherwise.

But nobody cares, as far as I can tell. I don’t see any major public figure talking about how they need to get the police under control, no matter how many incidents there are in the paper. Even the citizen protests, such as they are, are pretty weak.

For most people, a bogus fifty dollar ticket now and again isn’t worth getting worked up about. That’s the sad state of things.

Croaker – the comments section was full of stories like this. Basically, if you are given a summons, you’ll be paying it. And don’t screw around complaining about it or it might morph into an arrest and criminal charges instead of civil violations. Another major faction of comments centered around the “what do you expect, this is how New York has always worked” – seemingly without irony or any desire for a different way of life.

As to the saturation of a market,the players already IN the market will always claim such to protect themselves.How does competition hurt the consumer? I have a special place in my heart for Colombians. There is no other country on earth that takes it to their commies (occupiers) like Colombia! Plus my girlfriend is Colombian. But! I think America letting in so many folks from other countries helps prop up shit governments. If you are the personalities type to have the guts to move to a new country, you are probably the kind of person to help bring down shitty rulers. We get good people mostly, but the old shithole country gets worse.

I always love the denial of permission to run or expand a business for the reason of “we’ve already got one.” If the market is “saturated” then the expansion will fail or a less desirable competitor will fail. This is one of the reason why health care costs are so high. Try to build a new hospital and you’re told, “we’ve already got one.” It would be funny if it weren’t so sad.

Subway ticket: That ranks right up there with the crap I witnessed on the DC subway back in the late 80′s. A diabetic having a hypoglycemic incident was handed a $250 ticket for “eating on the subway” (taking glucose tablets). The worst part was the ticket was upheld at hearing and no news organ was interested in publishing the story.

How times have changed.
