Toronto streets are so dangerous. This is the town where the former AG ran over a guy on a bicycle 3 times (backed up twice to hit him again), and it’s even on video (you can find it on youtube quite easily), and charges were dropped. He was “afraid for his wife”. My father had a defendant that hit someone 3 times in “self defense”, yeah that did not wash with the jury.

Then the next mayor said cyclists should just stay off the streets. yeah, I think Toronto, like Alabama, is just a place where no one else will want to go soon. Except in Alabama they used to kill people, on Toronto streets they actually are.

@67 – Absolutely incorrect. Debt *over a long period* is a bad thing. However, having a stalled economy is worse than short-term spending.

*Austerity* (as opposed to measured cuts) destroys economies.

The collapse ongoing in England is because the government is suppressing demand. (Oh, and creating a huge unemployment problem while at the same time using the language of labelling unemployed people as “scroungers”).

Most of the “cuts” being made in Britain will cost people FAR more in the longer run. (Classic example – they closed the central body which set procurement standards for school IT. This is costing schools £4 million a year, and has fragmented IT provision…)

I’m guessing you’re trying to dismiss this idea that debt destroys economies. It does. It creates inflation. It weakens your currency. It robs the private sector of capital. It forces a governments expenditures to go towards interest payments instead of services, or heaven forbid, back to the taxpayer.

These are the things that put America and the UK in the hole more than once throughout recent history. The last economic collapse wasn’t from a lack of government spending. It was from government over inflating the housing sector and keeping interest rates far too low.

A high speed chase gone bad. I know this sounds “racist,” but a “skert” black man will run . That’s why the cops call’em runners—they rarely turn and fight. And the claim by cops that the shoplifters attempted to “run over” them is laughable. That “attempted to tun over them” argument is the claim that Miami Police used for their high speed chase last Memorial Day when a fleeing suspect was gunned down with over 60 bullets fired into his car after it had stopped.
