Almost never isn’t never, and most people don’t have that kind of data at their fingertips. When I was growing up, spending summers in a non-urban area, I was taught to suspect any animal that was “Behaving strangely”, and not take chances. A farmer, with a farmer’s concern for livestock, would be even less inclined to take chances. I stand by Carter’s reaction of “Keep it the hell out of the boat”.

I didn’t think much of Carter when he was President, and I think less of him now. I just think that in this case he got scr*wed by public opinion.

so clearly shows how the press is nothing but a cheerleader for the state.

They didn’t arrest an inmate. At the time he was beaten and arrested he was just another citizen, a human being. That headline could have just as easily read “Mom, Deputy Dispute Claims about Man’s Arrest”, or “Mom, Deputy Dispute Claims about Son’s Arrest” or even “Mom, Deputy Dispute Claims about Suspect’s Arrest”.

By labeling him an “inmate” before even telling his story, that newspaper has made sure most of the public will not care what happens to him. Now, many readers will see him as just an inmate, a criminal, less than human trash that society is better off without.

Shame on Kingman PD for their dehumanizing and inhumane treatment of this man, and shame on AZ news for their complicity in it.

In a big city like NY dog piss in the summer heat stinks and degrades the quality of life, though I understand that there isn’t much we can do about dogs peeing in the streets, I believe that not cleaning up after ones dog mess should entail escalating fines in the thousands of dollars up to revoking the right to own a dog. As far as I can tell the city doesn’t consider this issue a serious quality of life concern though the number of dogs seems to be ever increasing. Obviously some of these concerns wouldn’t be an issue in a rural area where the main issue is dogs getting loose.
