I have been on the internet for far too long. I thought your favorite bar was emailing you.

Ha! Here all week, tip your waitress.

“Rock Yuan” would be a great porn star name.

You are braver than I am, had that email come to my inbox there is no way I would have opened that link!

I’ve always treated the term “manhole cover” as a euphemism. It certainly makes reading that email much more giggle-ridden.

All the manhole covers I buy are round, never square.
Square is just so dangerous, and round is safe.

My wife always buys the oblong type manhole covers though.

In this, as in so many other instances, I wish there was some way to get these companies to answer the question “How the hell did I end up on your list?”.

‘Rock Yuan’, interesting name. Reminds me of a guy I worked with in software a while back; Filipino Chinese, named Scooper Ong. Parents named him Scooper because they thought it was an American-sounding name. Something similar going on here maybe.

Sure hope that’s 80 degrees Celsius.

We should all chip in and get Radley one with his Agitator logo or Daisy’s mug on it for his next birthday.

Delta… haha, I was thinking the same. This manhole will have limited application.

If they are only good up to 80 Deg. they would be useless in most cities in the U.S. We average 90 or above through the summer.

    Agree with RobSmalls.

You are the only person I know of who can make an interesting blog post out of a spam e-mail.

    Off topic:

Police related quote of the week:

“[A jailhouse snitch] said [the homeowner] Hitcho was upset at [the policeman in his yard] for kicking at his dogs, and ‘had the drop on him’ and shot him in the back of the head.”

Its funny to imagine a person saying that he shot a perosn for “kicking at” his dogs. “Kicking AT”??? The point or burning question is, what would any of us do if a police man came up and started kicking our own pet dog with his handgun drawn. FYI: Hitcho claimed, soon after the incident, that he shot the officer because another police officer gave Officer Kicking Dogs the order to shoot the dogs down in their own yard and he believed they were about to be shot.

Very underreported story. Public defender doing a thoroughly pedestrian job on a case that deserves so much more.

I went to the website to verify that the temperature range was in Celsius.

    Clearly, I have issues.

So… no worries! Those bad boys are good to 176 degrees Fahrenheit! All your manhole cover needs can now be met! Because god knows, none of us want to see an uncovered manhole!

Got an email joking (I hope) that I’m “just a whore for Big Manhole.”

I didn’t catch it until the second reading.

Well, Radley, as a journalist dealing with police militarization/abuse/accountability/etc., you do cover a lot of sh*t. Maybe it’s natural to assume you would be interested in sewer accessories.
