I ask because I like to read travel forums and the few that I’ve found of Americans or British living there have all portrayed Croatians as hustlers and insincere people. I don’t like to think that. They must be pretty different people, but there have to be good things about them too.

That’s how most people know it now. And I agree that if you like looking at Dubrovnik you should watch that behind the scenes video, it’s practically an advertisement for their tourism bureau.

They filmed the King’s Landing scenes in Malta/CGI land for season 1 and Dubrovnik looks a hell of a lot more like what I imagined in the book than Malta. (The fictional world is, roughly, Europe. King’s Landing is supposed to be more or less the latitude of southern France. It should be green, not brown, in general.)
