		<description><![CDATA[+1 to Dave Krueger.  Spending is the disease, and taxes are merely a symptom.  Focusing on the symptom, instead of the disease, led to huge deficits yet allowed the idiots on the GOP side to feel good because they weren&#039;t raising taxes.  Another problem with Grover&#039;s pledge is that it makes restructuring the tax system difficult because the only question that at least half the Congress asks is whether the new system will increase taxes, rather than whether it is simpler, more efficient, better for business, fairer, etc.  All this means that the GOP is reduced to stupid posturing.  I&#039;m not saying the Dems are better, only that Grover is responsible for at least some of the dysfunction in Washington.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I&#039;d have a lot more regard for Norquist if he got politicians to sign pledges to cut government spending rather than letting them spend as much as they want provided they pledge not to raise taxes to pay for it, instead leaving it to future generations to foot the bill.  To me he&#039;s no less of a turd than anyone else in Washington.]]></description>
