It's all laws + regs done hastily after a death, not just laws named for dead people. In 1999, 5 suburban Philly teenage girls were killed in a one-car wreck. Who's to blame? The KILLER ROAD, of course, not Our Little Angels! So the speed limit was dropped from 55 to 45 mph ...

And the speed limit is still 45 mph today -- 12 years after the coroner determined the driver was huffing. (They were also speeding, but don't any facts get in the way of a good sob story.)

Emotionally driven legislation is just plain STUPID!

Check yer head at the door and rush as fast as you can for the hospital! Your presence means the difference between life and death ya know? I mean without you personally being there, not a gotdaaumed positive thing will happen. Right?

Well legislators seem to be able to perform exactly the same way making laws, because of real or perceived public pressure, usually a couple of imbeds feeding fury. Many would say they think with their dicks. The concept is the same though not the subject matter. Results are equalizing.
