NOW we know why Hood is suddenly being more interested in investigating Hayne and West. He can throw them under the bus and claim he was misled. The man has no shame.
The sheer magnitude of the problem suggests a similarly big solution. Widespread amnesty.

One thing that you may want to correct: There is a paragraph that starts
Hood also told the TV station that his office is looking into 20 cases that may have been tainted by West’s testimony. That’s interesting, because it’s the first time a Mississippi state official has made any mention of a voluntary investigation into either Hood or West. [...]
I think that second sentence is intended to end with “Hayne or West”.
Of course, Hood should face the music for his deliberate use of such “experts”, too…
Am I the only one that glanced at the headline and thought it said, “Kanye West Become Issue in Mississippi AG Race”? Because for a second I was really confused.
