And now you post another isolated incident without any violence? No flash grenades, no spraying bullets, no shot dogs? Come on, are the cops finally getting smarter about invading our privacy?
The article does explain just how difficult it is to get good intelligence on street level drug crimes. One of the commentators to the Youngstown article points out that street dealers will use common local names, and change identities often, in an attempt to hide their activities. I really like the part where dealers use the mayor’s name!

Having read this site and other news sources about the drug war for years, I’ve heard just about every lame pot pun. Every article on the subject seems to have at least one.

That said, “[Decriminalization] has also saved the city a pretty sizable Ziploc bag of green stuff,” is one of the better ones.

In regards to the “Isolated Incident” article, the police made a mistake, acknowledged that mistake within 15 minutes and left. To paraphrase The Agitator, “It’s not freedom. But it’s a start.”

Think how much more money they’d ‘save’ if they didn’t have to have all those police officers to arrest people and make them pay 200 bucks for a stupid class. It’s not important enough to prosecute them for, and a 3 hour class is just moronic. This is hopefully the last gasp of revenue extortion out of non-violent ‘offenders’.

I think I’ll try to get certified as a teacher of one of those three-hour “drugs are bad” classes. I’ll just force them to sit in a drum circle with a bunch of dirty hippies for three hours… that’ll scare ‘em straight!
