Great framing on this one Radley! Your photos sometimes could use some work in the “rule of thirds” and the “fibonacci’s ratio” departments. Working on those two techniques will enhance your photos immensly. Great job on this one however.
You went to Venice? That place has a nice libertarian vibe to it. (Good blue sky in your shot — that’s hard to come by in L.A.)

I don’t know about that. I haven’t been down to Los Angeles since 1992 when I was a National Guardsman activated for the L.A. Riots, but I lived just south of there for about 10 years as a kid. The smog could be horrific down there back in the 60s and 70s.
I was pleasantly surprised while down there during the riots how clear the air was. Aside from the smoke from the fires, the air seemed quite fresh. How often it stays like that, I have no idea.
Venice always has clean air. But blue skies, especially this time of year, can be elusive. (Completely overcast here in neighboring Santa Monica at the moment.)
Down near the beach? When was the last time you were here?
June gloom. Give it till July.

Personally I prefer beaches like Leo Carrillo or Corona Del Mar. Venice is good if you like a freak show.
