Catch Me on NPR Tomorrow

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

I’ll be talking about the arrests of citizens who record cops on “On Point.”

The show airs in most of the country at 9am ET, though some NPR stations may air it later.

    First HuffPo, now NPR?

    You’re infiltrating, not converting, right?

NPR thrives on stories of people being treated unfairly.

I dig the On Point host. I think you’ll get good questions.

Are you going to be on with Carlos Miller of “Photography is not a crime” fame?

I’m glad to see more media taking notice of this unconstitutional act by police… hopefully they are waking up to the simple fact that the police are no longer our friends.

Keep up the good fight Radley!

Agreed, Ashbrook does a quality interview, regardless of topic. Quick on devil’s advocate, few if any softballs. Thought he was a shoo-in for TOTN when Suarez moved to TV. Never quite figured out WTF Klose was thinking with Williams.

I opened this from my RSS feed to make the same exact point Mark made. You’re not going to go all squishy on us and get Stockholm syndrome are you?

..and explaining them away with authoriarian handwaves.

Listening to this now. What’s remarkable is that no one – guest or caller – has disagreed. Everyone thinks recording police is a good idea. Makes for a kind of boring show, actually …

That was a great show with good call-ins. Check it out when they post it.

Heartwarming to know police are so “in tune” with the populace, innit it?

The police will make comments such as “If you are not doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about.” So if the police are not doing anything wrong, they should have nothing to worry about.

Reaction to Balko discussing police abuse on:
    1. NPR: That is terrible. We need a bigger federal agency that oversees police and more police.
    2. Fox: There is no police abuse and we need more police.
    3. HuffPo: Balko is a Koch-whore!!!

But seriously, nice to see audience understand why it should be a slam-dunk to legally record all interactions with police.
