Cop?

The NY Daily News isn’t saying he is, but the cops aren’t denying it either.

Having blogged about sex issues at sexhysteria.com for over a year, I can tell you that Craigslist has been a very prominent villain in the current crusade against prostitution.   The mainstream press, many state attorneys general (not to mention Congress), and numerous prostitution “rescue” organizations joined that lynch mob until Craigslist finally closed it’s adult services section, after which the entire fiasco mostly dropped out of public attention.  Except for the Craigslist killer, of course.  The murders are now more commonly referred to as the Long Island killings.

The hookers in Europe (Amsterdam, Hamburg) are clean, unionized, and able to work safely. Stigmas persist, but they’re cleaner than American hookers.

Nobody in the US seems to be aware of this.

Nobody in the US is “aware” of it because it isn’t true. Condom use is close to universal among American prostitutes, and communities of independent escorts quickly blackball men who even ASK to go without condoms. As a result, American prostitutes have roughly one-fifth the STD rate of American university students; if you factor out streetwalkers it’s much, much lower still. Is that “clean” enough for you?

I appreciate that you seem to be on our side, but it doesn’t help us if even our allies spread the same old lies used by cops and moralists.

    I did not know that.

The only thing shocking about the idea this killer(s) is/are cops, is that more cops don’t become serial killers…

But I guess if you can just murder people on duty and your co-workers will cover them up for you, why do you need to strike out on your own?

A fine example if this cop in Detroit who shot 9 people in 6 years, killing three of the and finally DPD fired him, not for any of the shootings but for fudging his time cards.

John P@6: We don’t know that more *aren’t*. Plus, there’s a good example of the patsy mechanism in Season 5 of The Wire.

Hmmm… It seemed to make sense when I wrote it.

    All fixed, now.

    Thanks, BillC.

newspapers have a serious hatred of craigslist for ‘stealing’ their advertising revenue, a serious love of sensationalistic sex stories, and they’re having an ‘oops’ moment with this being a cop….

those are some sick fuckers- calling one of the victim’s sisters from the victim’s phone, taunting her?!!

4 weeks paid suspension while the union blames stress?

Legal US brothels are amazingly safe. As noted, you run a bigger disease risk having sex via dating. Plus there’s the whole for-sure-get-to-have-sex thing.

Prostitution has always been villified by both ends of the political spectrum. The moralists on the right hate it and so do the feminazis who think all consensual sex is really rape.

#14: Which is a good example of why the traditional “right” and “left” political spectrum is pure bunk. If they were truly opposites, they shouldn’t agree as often as they do.
