Seattle woodcarver killed by a cop has an update. Prosecutor decides not to charge, but Firearms Review Board says shooting was not justified.

    WTF…does it take?

  2. #2 |  André |

I think this is encouraging: they didn’t shoot anybody during the raid on the poker game.

“These are financial crimes, and while it might appear on the surface that it’s harmless, it festers into other crimes,” said Lt. Robert McCullough, a Baltimore County police spokesman.

Good news: Baltimore County has no serious crime!

LOL: Host was getting up to $1500 a night in profit. One SWAT raid costs about $30K.

Send a patrol car next time.

The pot-smoking Navy vet story is typical. The worst thing is, if Pfizer, Glaxo or some other company in that field could patent a method of THC delivery, it’d be legalized in 15 seconds. Can’t be jeopardizing any income streams, you know.

The Bieber story is only to be expected. Now that the average teen has a way to air his or her feelings in a way that can be witnessed by more than someone that happens to be nearby, we all get to see just how petty, ignorant and immature they are – a large number of them, anyway. Nothing has really changed except that we all get exposed to the stupidity.

I first read that 4th Bullet as “iDowsing” and thought someone invented an app to find water.

I hear they are making Bieber’s bed at the Bobby Sherman Memorial Retirement Home For Retired Teen Heart Throbs. Any day now he’ll become this generations face on embarrassing memorabilia from their youth. Sadly, there will be another right after him, just as Madonna begat Lady Gaga.

Bieber fever has ALWAYS been creepy. So, for that matter, is the parade of fluffy teen-boy idols I remember from the ’70′s, and the Japanese fashion for boy-boy romance comics written for Women. There’s something disturbing about a romance-object that is simultaneously sanitized of most characteristics of its supposed gender, while not being recognizably homosexual either.

Oh, well, it isn’t as if the phases that teen boys go through aren’t weird too.

The PATRIOT Act revolt that lasted about a week before it was passed anyway?

“Thank God this animal will soon be off the streets.”

I knew the guy when he was in the Navy, on the same ship with him off Grenada in 1983 where he was injured, and now reading about him on The Agitator. Small world.

So….will Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon be on the list of dangerous music?

Will laser shows need to be limited to Barry Manilow and Deam Martin?

How f’n stupid ARE these people?

Best quote “Young people simply download specially designed music, put on their headphones, and relax, as sounds are piped through each ear.” Yeah, normally sound is piped through each nostril…….

iDosing is so 2009. The new drug that’s slaughtering children by the millions is Spice and/or Red Bull. Toledo must be behind the times.

I haven’t clicked on the link yet but it seems like a cinch that the cop who did the reporting got fired and the one that did the sexual battery is on paid vacation.

    Do I win anything?

The good news of Spy Magazine being online, for free, is almost worth a month of Radley’s usual nutpunches.

  13. #13 |  tolbuck |

Brandon, Toledo being 2 years behind the fads is an improvement. It was decades behind when I was growing up.

WTOL was already a joke before they ran the report. They will run a “special report” on every Chicken Little they can dig up.

Within ten years Fox News will give up all pretense and hire animators and CGI specialists to ‘create’ footage for their broadcasts.

EARLIER TODAY WE WERE ON THE SCENE OF THE PRESIDENT’S LATEST ULTIMATUM TO THE PEOPLE. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE DARK SMOKY NIMBUS OF EVIL WRAPPING HIM LIKE A MALEVOLENT HALO, AND IF WE ZOOM IN YOU CAN SEE THE CLOVEN HOOVES HE NO LONGER TRIES TO HIDE. IN THE BACKGROUND, BEHIND THE PODIUM YOU CAN SEE A LINE OF NAKED NUBILE WHITE GIRLS CHAINED TO THE WALL, AWAITING HIS EVIL GLUTTONY. JOINING US NOW FROM THE SEA OF TRANQUILITY ON THE MOON IS A ONE HUNDRED FOOT TALL GLENN BECK TO COMMENT ON THIS SAD DAY IN OUR NATION’S HISTORY. GLENN, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S AGENDA OF EVIL, AS DEMONSTRATED TODAY?”

    Just wait. It’s coming.

    From the Department of Precrime:

“These are financial crimes, and while it might appear on the surface that it’s harmless, it festers into other crimes,” said Lt. Robert McCullough, a county police spokesman.

I also like how the undercover officer played poker for hours, until he lost all his chips. Wonder what he would have done if he had won?

Just another day in the Land of the Free™.

Yes, Bieber Fever is creepy, but I found the article to be a little reactionary:

“Bieber isn’t the first teen idol to whip his young fans into a frothing mad frenzy, or the first to evoke an intense sense of proprietary feeling in roiling, adolescent hearts and minds. But he is one of the first huge teen pop stars whose career is unfolding entirely in the digital age—and that adds an interesting new wrinkle to the hysteria. ”

Sounds a little too much like the whole “today’s drugs are worse than yesterday’s drugs” meme.

Personally, I haven’t liked the Fox News anchors nearly so much since they all started wearing those Nightwatch armbands….

Another local news station beclowns itself with “iDosing” hysteria.

    Electrical banana
Is bound to be the very next phase.

    They call it Mellow Yellow,
    Quite rightly.

I don’t see how a poker game where people buy in for $65 can generate $1500 a night. What’s the table rake, 50-percent? I mean, seriously, if the rake is high enough to generate that amount of money for the house, nobody would be winning any money so they’d stop coming to the game (at that rate, the first 23 people to buy chips would just be donating the money to the house).

They’d better get cracking. Only a year and a half to go.

    Obama’s not evil. Just Incompetent.

On the patriot act extensions, it’s a bit misleading to praise the Tea Party for splitting with the rest of the Republicans : of the 111 “Tea Party endorsed”, 96 voted for the extension, 12 voted against, and 3 didn’t vote. This is essentially indistinguishable from the other Republicans, at 114/14/2.

Never go online and use iDose.
Never go online and use iDose.
Never use iDose and actively think you are seeing people coming at you with knives.
Fireballs and demons coming at you.
Walls crumbling around you and nothing is happening.
Never use iDose because that’s how you get high.

#21 gets it. The supposed Tea Party Revolt was no such thing. It was a couple of congresscritters bucking the overwhelming majority of their party (in both senses: the GOP and the Tea Party faction of the GOP).
