Covering Their Assets

My crime column this week returns to the asset forfeiture issue in Indiana.

Now that they’ve finally been exposed for ignoring the Indiana Constitution’s requirement that forfeiture proceeds go to the state’s schools fund, Indiana prosecutors and their allies in the legislature are . . . trying to change the law so they can legally keep the money.

    I for one find the M&M link (about unwilling insertion of pretzels into M&Ms) tied to an article headed with ‘Covering their Assets’ to be fairly fitting!

    I love that Ad.

    It’s one of the ones I habitually laugh to. The other is the Geico ad where the Gekko has a cell phone and a wallet. The look on the boss’s face is priceless.

    So… the seized assets are going to be used to purchase pretzel M&Ms? Even though it pisses off the sob sisters at Jezebel, I’m still against it.
