They’ve included a pamphlet about how important it is that we save our planet by exercising our responsibility to recycle. The cover has a nice picture of a bear and its cub. What a crock.

I wonder how much money they save pandering to green gullibility… If they really cared, they’d be offering to refund a deposit.

I usually make it a point NOT to buy anything which is advertised with too much “green” hype. Whether it’s the smugness of people who make empty gestures to feel superior to others, or the PC GroupThink implications, I really don’t want to be encouraging them.

Yep. And I have a simple rule when I stay at hotels. If they have the bullshit “please save the environment by reusing your towel” sign, the towels go straight to the floor after my shower every single day. If they don’t have the sign, I reuse my towel. If they want to put up an *honest* sign that says “please reuse your towel because it costs us a lot of money to wash them”, then I’ll reuse them.

BUT as a consumer, I do choose products or services which are less wasteful of resources, because of my personal dislike for things which are not elegant or economical. I don’t eat pizza very often, since it’s a “cheat” on my diet, but I would definitely appreciate the functionality of that pizza box—so long as the pizza joint delivering the pie didn’t repeat the “Our Planet, Our Responsibility” propaganda.

Yeah, that’s dumb.

The box can’t be recycled, but it can still as good a candidate to be made FROM recycled cardboard as anything else. If it also saves you some paper plates and whatever you’d wrap the leftovers in, that’s not bad.

Mayel, who said she was standing around 100 feet away from the others, was charged with failure to obey a police officer’s order after Cpl. Brian Kapanowski told her to put down the camera and she instead held her camera in place as she backed away from him.

“When someone is a subject of an investigation, they have to stop what they’re doing and answer my questions,” Kapanowski told jurors Wednesday, according to the Detroit Free Press.

This entire incident was a perfect convergence of three very insidious trends in modern American society: (1) police state thuggery in the face of defiant citizens with cameras, (2) delusional post-9/11 fear-mongering about non-realized and completely unrealistic threats of “riots” and “violence,” and (3) goofy far left wing multiculturalist political correctness of the type that is willing to forgo basic civil rights so as not to “offend” moslems and their backasswards stone age religious customs.
