Set Your DVR to July 22.

CM Capture 1That’s when the criminal justice episode of Penn & Teller’s Bullshit! premieres on Showtime. It will feature commentary from your humble Agitator.

I haven’t heard if this episode will feature gratuitous nudity. I can say for certain that it won’t feature any of my nudity, gratuitous or otherwise. Just sweet, naked reason.

Well hell, who wants to watch it if you’re not naked! ;p

Drink … naked? Oh, wrong site.

    I could support a Penn/Teller ticket in 2012.

I’ve had a permanent “P&T” timer set for seven years, now, on my Dish Network DVR. Even my daughter can’t wait for this ep!

Nudity and libertarianism, damn why hasn’t someone thought of this before?

Wimp. Get naked on cable TV already.

Penn and Teller are great. I have seen them several times and want to catch their Vegas show next time I am there.

But even Penn and Teller get restricted or have to restrict themselves on speech:

Let’s talk about your TV show Bullshit! Will you ever run out of theories to debunk and people to expose? If you build a kingdom on bullshit, you’re not in danger of running out of it. Our producer says that Teller and I can take any subject in the news and do a credible show on it. Sure, we like to have a villain, something to call “bullshit” on, but if we don’t, we can depart from that model.

Are there any groups you won’t go after? We haven’t tackled Scientology because Showtime doesn’t want us to. Maybe they have deals with individual Scientologists—I’m not sure. And we haven’t tackled Islam because we have families.

A sad commentary. Everyone should be fair game.

I think very few people would want to see Radley’s testes satchel.

I haven’t heard if this episode will feature gratuitous nudity.

Isn’t that kind of like saying “I haven’t heard if this week’s episode of True Blood will feature vampires”?

Save your nudity for a calendar shoot. “Libertarian Libertines”

    NOW you’re cool!

Penn finds a way to get gratuitous boobies into everything. Hell, they even had nudity in the episode on fast food.

If it’s an episode of Bullshit, you can pretty much be sure there will be nudity. And Penn cursing profusely.

God I love this show so much.

Mike Leatherwood “Save your nudity for a calendar shoot. “Libertarian Libertines””

That’s not a good mental image-Radley, Lew Rockwell, Judge Napolitano, maybe Stossel. I’m thinking that calendar is not gonna break any sales records.

@Mattocracy: they’re too smart to run for President.

The only episodes that don’t feature gratuitous nudity are the ones where the nudity is integral to the theme.

I see P&T and Stossel (the shows) as being quite similar. So, if you look at it that way, the number of libertarian shows on TV has doubled in the last year.

Although, I have to admit, Stossel’s show could be improved with some gratuitous nudity. I mean, let’s face it, what serious critical discussion isn’t enriched by the inclusion of a few samples of nature’s finest accomplishments in all their full frontal and backal glory?

“What dick has balls enough to expose the taint…of the American criminal justice system? That’s right. Radley Balko.”

My favorite blogger on my favorite show? That’s gold.

Totally unrelated to the topic of this thread but the state of Illinois is using eminent domain to acquire land for an airport that will almost certainly never exist.

P&T have already done a Marijuana episode.

Here’s yet another police shooting over small-time drugs (but none found on the search warrant). Sounds like the cops want to be Judge Dredd.

I heard a story on NPR this morning about Maywood California which is apparently planning to privatize all of their city services to save money. Why do they need to save money? Because they can’t afford all the lawsuits incurred by a police department known for its police abuse.

And, thanks to that police brutality, they are now “uninsurable”.

It was the police department that largely got Maywood into its current financial troubles. Last month, the town was informed by the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority that it would no longer be able to obtain liability insurance, largely as a result of excessive claims filed against the police.

The way things are going, for better or worse, this could be the wave of the future.

More here. The audio for the NPR story is on NPR.org under the show, Morning Edition.

Oops. The 3rd paragraph in my post (#20) above was a quote from the story and should have been in itallics:

It was the police department that largely got Maywood into its current financial troubles. Last month, the town was informed by the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority that it would no longer be able to obtain liability insurance, largely as a result of excessive claims filed against the police.

Yea Dave, Will Grigg wrote an article on that just the other day. I wish they would all do that.
