Wow, weird coincidence. I just got a hankering for the silent era women after a Buster Keaton bend, watched Sunset Blvd last night, and spent an hour perusing through Wikipedia on all of the actresses they tried to get to play the part.
Poor Anny Ondra, having to lip sync an entire movie.
First a pioneer in cinema, then a pioneer in lame jokes!

Although I must say, if what other actresses have said about working with Hitchcock is true, that’s pretty tame by comparison.
