Great song. Needs to be in Rock Band. “Father Christmas” is another good one.
the bouncing souls have a great cover of this song on their Gold album – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXwbQjhFUc8. This is the first time I’m hearing the Kinks version. I’m a huge Ray Davies fan but I like the Souls version better.

Fountains of Wayne has covered it too. I seem to recall that they performed it live on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in the weeks following 9-11.
