Hey, at least it wasn’t a poker tournament in the US, or the robbing thugs would have been police and the million smackaroos would have been tied up in asset forfeiture for years.
I was assuming that it was going to be the police. Radley, you have us too well trained.
Then, I remembered that if it had been the police, the cameras would have been seized as “evidence” and the owner prosecuted for illegally recording the police, immediately before “losing” or “damaging” all of the interesting bits of the videotape.
Ben’s link gives me a lot more of the feeling of what it’s like to be robbed. Would love to have seen more of the violence to see whether it looked movielike or more like Violence: A Micro-Sociological Theory would predict.
Didn’t Dave Chappelle do a sketch about robbing a TV poker tournament?

Hell, the American citizens get robbed every day on live TV on C-SPAN.

An interesting videwo, but I didn’t see much robbin’ going on.
Hell, I can cause that much commotion in a crowded room while on good bender…
Ok, I just remembered that the Chappelle sketch was a craps tournament and the robbery was just the ending bit.
Countdown until someone uses this as a reason why poker should be illegal starts in 3… 2… 1…

#5,
It wasn’t just any craps tournament, it was the world series of dice.
Video from another angle. Shows the robbers in the lobby. A security guard has one in a head lock before the other robbers scare him off.
