This scourge of Polka Videos had got to stop!

Everyone knows that Polka is a gateway style to more severe forms of music… eventually leading to …choke… Wierd Al Yankovich!

For the love of all that is good and right, we must protect the children!

    Ok… so…

How in the HELL does an ‘undercover cop’ be in the position to buy um… not even pirated… but, what? What crime was committed here? DVDs with Polka Partying on them?

    WTF?

What the hell did this guy do to piss off the Chief of Police? I have to assume that the Warren Police dept. does not have a “Polka Investigation and Suspension Squad” (P.I.S.S.) and that they went out of their way to get this guy for other reasons.

I have no problem with the reporters taken money to do an investigation as long as they do it ethically. Better to be investigated by Howard Kurtz than by a random Scientology goon.

On the reporters; how else would you go about doing a story on a news organization?

They are hiring respected reporters, they have agreed to take what they are given obviously because they have paid in advance and the reporters claimed up front that they were going to report objectively.

Unless you are saying that news organizations can never be objectively reported upon, I can’t see anything but above board dealings on all fronts here with the exception of the complaints from the paper being investigated.

#1 The polka thing would supposedly be a “misappropriation of public utilities” type of thing. They probably feel that if you used public resources to create the product, any profits made from the end product should be going back to the public fund. I don’t agree, but that’s more than likely the “logic” they are pursuing.

I almost screamed at the tv when I saw the animal abuse registry story on the news last night.

Why not just make all court records searchable on Google like an expanded Facebook profile and be done with it?

That hipster P.O.S. and his little douchebag buddy need to be treated the same way that they treated that cat.
I’d gladly volunteer my TV and do the heavy lifting.

I thought of you when I saw the animal abuse registry. All I could think was, “Fuck, how much will this shit cost?”

Respected journalists take money from Church of Scientology to investigate newspaper that has been investigating Scientology.

I think you meant “formerly respected journalists”.

The Lama is a fund raising machine with CIA ties. Mother Teresa would be proud of the racket he’s running.
When he spoke at the national cathedral a few years back a woman I know, after hours of waiting in line broke her arm when a hippie tripped her while running to get close to the Lama. Suffering is inevitable

This being California, I wonder how long it will be before everyone who buys a steak is added to the Animal Cruelty registry?

    Radley Balko reads Jezebel?

An animal abuse registry sounds good to me. And I consider spaying and neutering to be animal abuse. Also confining animals in a house alone is most definitely abuse. And eating them, of course, is the worst kind of abuse.

What on Earth is a ‘respected journalist’?

In before the Chicom apologists attack the Dalai Lama.

    *Looks at post 8*

Shit, too late. They sure are quick.

I finally watched the Judge Judy clip. The best line is the last one where the one guy dressed conservatively says “I feel like my whole life is ridiculous”. After watching the 3 other people talk about thier screwed up lives, I got the feeling he was just a normal guy with a 9-5 job who happened to move in with his musician girlfriend and everything is now insane. It gave me a chuckle.

Man arrested for using publicly-owned equipment to make polka videos.

When it comes to making a polka video, who cares if the equipment is publicly owned? The mere act of making a polka video is a crime against humanity. The perpetrators should be put into an accordion and squeezed.

He should have made porn videos instead of polka videos. Then he could have claimed that the porn videos were his art and he would have been left alone.

Don’t cops get a kick back from COPS! Ya know, bad boy bad boy, where ya gonna run….. bad boy bad boy….

But then again it’s detroit, and since it’s been evacuated of criminals, sorta cuz that’s all that was left, the cops are bored and reduced to reading law books to find REAL CRIME!!

Today the ALF gets your name and number, tomorrow….. Well Tom Clancy has a good novel about such, called Rainbow Six.

My favorite quote from the “respected journalists”/Scientology hacks, on whether they had concerns about taking on the job:

“‘We were hesitant,’ they said. ‘That’s why we insisted on being paid in full before we started our work…'”

  19. #19 |  El Scorcho |

Are they gonna put all the cops that shoot doggies in the registry. I’m all for it if that is the case.

Do you know what the Lama tweeted? ‘Gunga galunga …. gunga, gunga-lagunga.’

  21. #21 |  kishnevi |

I’m fairly certain that the Dalai Lama doesn’t speak fluent English, and all those tweets are PR feed by a staff member.
He has been actively promoting the teaching of Western science among the Tibetan diaspora. One of the things I like to say is that he’s officially a member of the faculty of my alma mater. It balances out the negatives of having Jimmy Carter there.
Details on Professor Dalai and his science initiative at Emory (which is not the only one he’s involved with)

In other news, people have noticed a dramatic increase in activity before the animal cruelty registry goes into effect. “Those damn cats have been getting into my garbage for months. But if I shoot one after March 12, then I’m agonna go into this big database with all the perverts and child molesters,” says Tracy D. Hardass, a man suffering a bitter existence compounded by feral housepets and an unfortunate name. “I got until then to clear them all out, or maybe until April 1st, at the latest. The deputy round these parts is more of a dog person, you see,” Tracy told our intrepid reporter.
