Dear Radley,
I love your pictures of the day. I noticed when I copied today’s, to send to a friend, the caption “Columbus Birch.” This is clearly a Sycamore = Button Wood — you know, like on the banks of the Wabash.
Cheers
Wow! That made me miss Carnivale… great show. Clancy Brown was the best cast actor ever for that.
Sycamore tree. I always remembered it this way: Sycamore trees look “sick” due to their white-ish flaky bark. Pretty picture Radley!
I love the trees in Indiana.
What a beautiful tree. The house I grew up in had the two biggest trees on the block — sycamores both. Now, driving across Indiana and Ohio, there are just so many of them, and this is the perfect time to see them. Every time I see that white bark in a crowd, I get fond memories.
