But, but, but…. Don’t all these programs save lives? Doesn’t that automatically make them good?
Personally, I think there’s a lot of entertainment value in these crusades to stamp out salt, high calorie foods, sugar drinks, etc. I laugh my ass off when I hear people whine, especially when I know many of them were so quick to jump on the anti-smoking bandwagon. It’s loads of fun being part of a massive mob that gets to trample, with impunity, a smaller group that they all hate. I don’t mind their getting a taste of what they dished out. I know they won’t learn anything from it, but I still laugh in their faces and do as much as I can to make them feel embarrassed.
I might point out that this very same dynamic is what drives crusades against drugs, porn, prostitution, gambling, etc (the list is endless). Any activity that is engaged in by a minority of the population is at risk for attack by crusaders, because self-centered brain-dead Americans who don’t give a shit about laws that don’t affect them.
Remember, if you’re looking for who to blame about the loss of your rights, you have no further to look than your next door neighbor.
So he’s essentially turning New York into the over the top nanny-state version of Los Angeles from Demolition Man? except without all the non-violence.
Isn’t it funny how the biggest international story of the day receives zero mention here at The Agitator: Denmark Cartoonist attempted murder by Somali Muslim.
I thought this blog was about civil liberties? I thought Radley Balko was all about Free Speech rights.
Oops. Plum forgot. He and other Left Libertarians only support Free Speech for Leftists, American-haters, Bush bashers, and anyone who Hates Republicans. Radical Muslims who want to kill Americans get all the Free Speech rights they want in the eyes of the Left Libertarian.
I consider myself a “left libertarian.” I don’t really see Radley as one ( not a dis to him). To Dondero, anyone who doesn’t consider George W. Bush a libertarian is a “leftist” or left-libertarian.
Dondero is a hateful midget like Michael Bloomberg. Radley Balko, while not my “ideal libertarian”, has done a hell of a lot more for freedom than most libertarians and internet jerk-offs, not to mention “Libertarian Republican” war mongers like Dondero. Dondero thinks he’s a libertarian because he’s a “swinger” and likes cheap prostitutes. But he spends most of his non-swinging time advocating State Violence and increased government power.
Okay Greg, that was a mouthful. Now how about answering the question.
Why is it that Left Libertarians are completely and entirely ignoring the HUGEST story of the day? Did a check at every single Left Libertarian blog from Reason H&R to Liberty Papers to Under the Beltway to Free Liberal, Ron Paul blogs et.al. Nothing. Anywheres. Complete silence.
You see, it doesn’t fit the template that the Muslims hate us cause we’ve got Troops on their lands. No Danish Troops on Muslim lands. No “Warmongering” Danes “invading” Iraq or Afghanistan or stationing Troops in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
So, what is it then?
Must be the Culture. But shooosh! Can’t say that around a Left Libertarian. Gotta pretend it’s all about the Troops.
Greg hate to bust your bubble but Radley Balko is THEE Left Libertarian. Certainly others like Doherty, Bandow, Rockwell, Anthony Gregory, Gene Berkman, Raimondo, Garris, et.al. But if I had to pick one iconic Left Libertarian it would be Balko. (With Raimondo as a close second).
Dondero, I think the better question is why, as a professed advocate of liberty fighting against the scourge of brown people, didn’t you bring up the two ships that were hijacked by Somali pirates? Why are you covering for them by misdirecting everyone’s attention to the cartoonist attack? Do you really hate America that much?
Alternately, it’s Radley’s blog, he can post about whatever he damn well pleases. As a matter of fact the past week included a couple posts about the Christmas bomber, which is presumably the kind of threat you think should be discussed here. If you’re looking for a blog to catalogue the crimes of Muslims I’d suggest checking out little green footballs and to stop crapping up this site.
I don’t get this left libertarian, right libertarian stuff. I guess I just imagine them as being republicans or democrats with an occasional libertarian thought. For example, a left libertarian might be a democrat who thinks that some people might be to blame for their own poverty and a right libertarian might be a republican who thinks that protesting war isn’t always treason.
I never once in my entire life found myself identifying devoted libertarians as left or right. Aside from the abortion issue I find libertarians to be fairly consistent. The fact that they oppose state control of both morality and wealth pretty much excludes them from right and left.

A great new years resolution for Agitator readers who haven’t come up with one yet:
Gosh, Dondero, I don’t really see anyone here defending someone attempting to murder someone else. I don’t see anyone here saying that someone in Denmark should have to curb their free speech. I don’t exactly see any evidence for that inference that people don’t have a right to criticize *anything*. I also don’t see anyone stepping up in support of a murderer. The only one who is supporting murder here is YOU.
No, nobody here is defending murder or radical Islam. Rather the modus operandi of the Left Libertarian when it comes to Islamo-Fascism is to just ignore the subject completely. Don’t talk about it on blogs, websites. Don’t bring it up in conversation, unless pushed.
You all know you’re on very thin ice on the issue. So, you cower in fear of talking about it, or even acknowledging its existence.
You think nobody notices that?

There’s just not a whole lot of meat to the cartoonist story. The guy who trespassed on private property to try to take another man’s life was pretty clearly in the wrong, and I applaud the artist for exercising his right to express himself. What more do you want? Did you think the actions of this one man would be enough to get people behind the idea of eradicating an entire religion? Before I’m accused of supporting a murderous zealot simply because he presumably hates America, I believe that freedom of religion is also a God-given right which, just like all natural rights, stops only where another person’s property begins. What else is there to say about it?
why do you think it’s a big story? Aren’t you preaching “Islamofascists” are out to get us all? It shouldn’t be surprising to you, now that Dubya The Magnificacent is out of office, that they are still out to get us.
But, but, but…. Don’t all these programs save lives? Doesn’t that automatically make them good?

‘reefer madness’ just keeps getting re-released over and over and over…

I wish we could vote folks like #4 (and yes, I’m aware of his reputation) down a million karma…
Donderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
The worst part of all this is the mayor is just another “Do as I say, not as I do” hypocrite.
Oh, you want some proof of that?
No problemo:

In Donderoooooo!-land, we have to murder those guys before they might get a chance to murder us! That’s a great definition of ‘libertarian’!
What’s the matter you all? Cat got y’all’s tongues?
You all are so fucking transparent. Such fucking hypocrites.
If this was some Lefty who criticized Bush you’d be defending him all over your Lefty Libertarian blogs.
But no, this is a guy, a Dane, who criticized Radical Islam. So, he doesn’t fit into your little Lefty Blame America First template.
Do you honestly believe nobody sees through that glaring contradiction?
You Lefty Libertarian fucks have been exposed. And Radley Balko, you Sir are the biggest Lefty Libertarian hypocrite fuck of them all.

New year, same old Dondero. I love it.
Hey Dondero,
why do you think it’s a big story? Aren’t you preaching “Islamofascists” are out to get us all? It shouldn’t be surprising to you, now that Dubya The Magnificacent is out of office, that they are still out to get us.
Now, go away.
Who the f*ck is Dondero?
