I hope that Maye is home soon. My best wishes go out to him.

Sadly, wishes and prayers are not enough. I am afraid the gun owners of America will soon need to take drastic action to right the sinking ship that is America. For those of like mind, may I suggest two fiction novels to take your mind off the pressing issues at hand:
"Molon Labe" by Bostin T. Party
and
"Unintended Consequences" by John Ross, (the one from Accurate Press)

I urge everyone here to get the book "The New Prohibition". In it, there is an essay by author John Ross called "How Drug Laws Hurt Gun Owners". The Cory Maye case is part and parcel of his arguments.

One of the best things for the libertarian movement that can be done is to print off that essay, and what Radley has done here, and put the reason TV episodes dealing with Maye on your laptop, and show the video and hand the materials out at gunshows. (The media approach to uniting the freedom movement.)

Make the clear point that you intend to organize the libertarian party statewide, and ask people to sign up as county contacts to walk their precincts. LOCAL ACTION is the only kind of political organization that allows one to break into the mainstream, from a minority viewpoint. How does it do this? It puts a talking face in front of people, who lives in their area, and with whom they can sympathize. Statewide races do not do this, they rely on hostile media to portray the freedom movement well (only in cases where the candidate is as mentally strong as Ventura does a statewide race make a difference).

We need to stop the racist gun and drug laws before there's hell to pay.

If Mr. maye needs perspective he can always look at what happened to Jonathan Ayers.

I can't believe how under-reported that story is.

There seems to be zero journo-pressure for a federal prosecution. This surprises me.

I know I rarely comment unless it's to take serious issue with something you said (or with something someone said that you, being the sensible Srs Moderate Libertarian type, endorse heartily), but in this case I'll have to get all mushy and chime in with all your fans. What you've done for this man is a great thing.

I wish him the best, and hope against all odds that he is, someday soon, a free man.

Merry Christmas to you too JS and your family.

Radley goes out on a limb quite a bit, which has its risks, but we should all remember the core of this blog is promoting awareness of the intrusive State, a goal I heartily endorse.

Yea, but maybe we're all getting kind of jaded and, well, cynical. I know there's a lot of concern for Corey Maye among our usual posters. By the way, Merry Christmas Cynical!

You do good work Radley. Good luck to you and Cory Maye in 2010. Keep fighting the good fight.
