   Innocent people are, I would think, a great deal less likely to provide useful services useful to a politician in the future than Barbour’s pet murderers.

   Now that I’ve read TFA and learned that the convicts in question all worked at the Governor’s mansion, I’m going to go with “because they were willing to suck his cock.” This is a virulently anti-gay Republican we’re talking about, remember.

   Is it irresponsible to speculate? It would be irresponsible not to.
