Top Agitator.com Posts of 2009
Thursday, December 17th, 2009Below, the last year’s 20 most-read posts from your favorite blog. Lessons for traffic building: more rants, more stories about grandmothers, use the word “genitalia” in more headlines. Probably not a good idea to work all three themes into the same post, though.
1. What Michael Phelps should have said.
2. Whole Foods
5. Grandmothers and Pregnant Women Beware.
6. Maryland State Police Raid Parents’ Home for Teen’s Misdemeanor Pot Charge
9. Mother Tased, Arrested in Front of Kids After Traffic Stop
10. When Hairless Genitalia Is Banned, Only Criminals Will Have Hairless Genitalia
11. Grandma Arrested for Child Porn
12. Hoosier Grandmother Arrested for Purchasing Cold Medication
13. Second Amendment-Loathing Mayor Attacked With Lead Pipe
14. Ballsy Agitator Reader Stands Up to Bully Cop
15. Super-Powered Police Dog Proves a Paltry Pooch; People It Imprisoned Exculpated

I think you should try it and see what happens.
I’d vote for: When Hairless Genitalia Is Banned, Only Criminals Will Have Hairless Genitalia, as the best headline of the year. Someone should put up one of those polls to see what everyone thinks.
I’m still bitter that the “Radley Balko exposed” post didn’t include genitalia. Unless, of course, you count the Obama dildo.
Some of these stories cry out for updates. Maybe we should vote on which story we’d like to see updated. Of course, “Hairless Genitalia” would win, whether it needs an update or not (I vote not).
I’m partial to the cash for clunkers/Daily Show post myself. Exposing the hypocrisy of the left and right is always a fun read.
Just a quick survey of the readers of The Agitator.
Indulge me, if you please.
Positive or negative mark this comment if you generally like Jon Stewart and the comedy of TDS.
Thank you.
Cheers.
The Phelps rant was epic.
I was shown that link about a dozen times by others only to tell them I read it first. Unfortunately none knew the original author thanks to blogs that don’t understand legitimacy is gained when you give credit. I think 2 of those people are casual readers of your blog now.
I prefer this headline:
http://www.theagitator.com/2009/01/30/b-b-b-baby-yoo-just-aint-seen-mutt-and-jeff/
But I’m a sucker for a bad pun. Even my own.
Top story missed: Stephanie Lazarus – LAPD cop who murdered her former boyfriend’s new wife and had fellow officers cover for her, finally charged 23 years later.
I was actually disappointed that the Stewart one ranked so high. So many important abuses of people’s rights get documented and researched here, and all the pageviews go to a piece about how a comedian isn’t as funny as he used to be?
I’m still “agitated” about that pastor blown away in Georgia. When I read further stories about the incident, he came across like the absolute epitome of a nice guy. Yeah, he really did take time out of his day to help a poor woman, give her a ride, and help her out with a little cash.
But he was seen with a poor woman who’s used drugs, so he’s gotta pay, right?
#7 Radly:
Good headline but the best line in the story is further down:
Sports, food and money round out the top three. Good to see we keep our priorities straight.
