#26 | not l.a. -- "Football stadium: not Los Angeles. The City of Industry is in L.A. County, but it’s a separate city."

-1 for nitpicking. L.A. County is L.A. City, county -- makes no difference whatsoever.

One thing that is NOT L.A. is Orange County. That is not a nitpick, as those of us who were aghast at the renaming of the Angels have pointed out.

The Groin Girl story is disconcerting, mostly because of the reaction to it. We're sort of conditioned to laugh, but that's some serious shit. I've got one immensely fucked up sense of humor, but there's a larger issue at play, one that resolves around mens' rights. If the genders were reversed we wouldn't be taking pokes at the poor fucks who were just walking down the street.

"The sick time investigation was dropped when Wallace learned that no violation had occurred"

RRRIGHT. What's next, an investigation into failure to wear issued hat at the appropriate time or some other bit of bureaucratic nonsense. Stay strong, Officer Jardis. They know the facts are not on their side, so they are going to resort to cheap shots. You are the real Peace Officer in this situation.

There was a girl in my high school that got her kicks out of popping guys in the balls with her fist as she walked down the hall in between class. I saw her get a few other guys before she tried me. I was ready and hit her so hard she dented the locker she bounced off of. Funny thing was that everybody laughed at her and didn't get mad at me for hitting a girl.

Budget-deficited California, Los Angeles move ahead with plans to build a taxpayer-funded professional football stadium. Despite the fact that they, um, don’t actually have a professional football team.

I would like to know:
1) How many stadiums, arenas, ball parks, etc around that were built for the purpose of attracting a sports team that never got one?
2) How many were built and the sports team folded or left within 10 years?
3) How many perfectly good stadiums etc have been torn down to build a newer, far more expensive one to placate the team owner?
4) How many perfectly good stadiums etc are sitting empty because the team owner got a better offer somewhere else and moved the franchise?

and, finally:

5) How much additional space has the devil had to create in hell to support the team owners, mayors, city councillors, promoters and sports flacks who have lied through their teeth to get these things built?

Drug warriors listen to reason? LMAO!! Good one. Im not going to post over there but the officer involved has posted and gave his email address (bjardis@gmail.com). I just may send him an email of support. Looks like he could use it. Its rough when your persecuted to the point of possibly losing your job for merely speaking about something you believe is wrong in this country.

"I think the anti-pot ad is right on. Should it be legal? Maybe, but people that smoke pot all the time do tend to be stupid and no doubt are trying to escape their loserdom. I’d like to see some kind of a survey to find the number of regular pot smokers that actually smoke with their kids!!!"

Oh good grief.

A beverage with an alcohol content of .5% is not capable of getting any healthy individual drunk, because the rate of excretion of alcohol from body would be greater than the rate of ingestion, no matter how much of it one were to drink.

Hell, the article even says that a person would have to drink 28 bottles of lemonade just to get the amount of alcohol found in the average beer (i.e. 5%).

What's Maine going to do for an encore? Ban minors from purchasing mouthwash?

I think on the New Hampshire story, some poster is trying to stack the deck. I caught this over there:

"Jardis is a media hound. His job is to protect and uphold the law in the Town of Epping. How can he perform his job if he does not believe in the laws he is suppose to uphold. I am willing to believe when he was in his hiring interviews he did not say “I believe we should legalize drugs” He should be removed from the force."

NOTE: When using multiple posting names pretending to be different people, posting the same exact comment on them both still sorta gives you away. How much you wanna bet this person has a badge and a gun?
