Sunday Evening Dog Blogging
Sunday, October 25th, 2009Another gorgeous fall day today, so I took Daisy to the park in Old Town. Harper stayed behind to enjoy a nap without the pesky puppy around. I’m trying to get Daisy a little better at socializing with other dogs. She still spends about half her time playing and half her time cowering behind me in terror. We did see a border collie and a German shepherd catching Frisbees. She seemed very interested. So that’s a start.

The black dog has its head very low and his arms bent. He senses Daisy’s apprehension. That’s a very good dog and you might want to make playdates with it.
She’s beautiful. If you’d ever like a playdate with the world’s friendliest pitbull puppy, let me know. My husband and I and our pit, Justice Ginsburg, live in McLean and would be happy to meet you at your dog park sometime.
If Daisy’s not ready for that it’s totally cool.
Oh my gosh, she’s so big! If my dogs weren’t such nutjobs, I’d suggest a playdate.
very cute!!
Radley,
That’s our regular dog park! And it is a very good place to go to socialize dogs. I think the lack of a fence and presence on a semi-busy corner selects for well adjusted dogs (and owners). Maybe we’ll see you there sometime. Our pooch is a freakishly tall golden retriever named Reuben. My wife or I go just about everyday.
Cheers,
Jason
Damn cute
Aiee, no leash in an unfenced park. Tsk tsk. Aside from the potential risk from leaving the park and getting hit by a car (chasing a ball, running from a “playmate”, etc.) unleashed dogs constant source of annoyance for some reason dogs love charging her, and some have even tried mounting her, all unleashed.
Wha…?
That should read,
That black dog clearly recognizes that your dog is a somewhat scared puppy. The black dog’s body language is so very clear on this. Good playdate dog!
Great looking dog! Keep exposing her to different kinds of people, animals and environments, which includes everything from dog obedience classes to vet visits to walks to the park.
