Yet another example of draconian laws that don’t stop people from harming themselves and harms even more people by not allowing them help themselves.

Hopefully at some point Obama mans up and implements the transparancy he promised by posting bills on the net for a period before signing them into law. Then we can get to the next step, which is a reasonable discussion on what the unintended consequences will be before we put a law in place.

Here’s an interesting article from Chicago where a nurse was cuffed and thrown in a cruiser when she followed hospital policy and wanted to do paperwork before taking a drunks blood.

Dr. Fischer is AMAZINGLY calm and collected, considering what our own thugs acting under the guise of government have done to him. If I were in his position–my livelihood, my possessions, my life stripped away for the sake of politics–I would swear revenge on my captors for the rest of my life. Quite possibly act on it.

Remember though, according to the Left, we only need the “right people in charge” and this will all change.

How many diiferent ways are there to descibe an insane, doomed to failure, counterprodctive and affront to liberty policy? Give me a week and I’ll come up with new condemnations for our esteemed jack booted thug* drug warriors.

Cops play doctor when they arest for DUI.
I know friend who had bloodshot eyes, swaying , strong
mell of alcohol, etc) on the police report.
He got booked for DUI, then released 2 hours later. The ER doctor wouldn’t give him a blood test but said
“Alert, healthy, etc” on the exam.
He was convicted.
The police officer’s testimony, rife with exaggeration, was allowed.
The ER doctor’s report was not allowed, considered “hearsay.”
Whatever.

I always choke on the suggestion that government is acting in good faith when, for example, they crack down on pain medications. Their arguments are so unsupported as to be patently preposterous and their crusades clearly have far more in common with a modern day witch hunt than they do with any strategy that could credibly claim to advance the “general welfare”.

That’s why I could never be a convincing commentator. I have nothing but ridicule for government, but ridicule doesn’t sway those who really want to believe government is their friend.

The drug war is simply another example of Man’s vicious persecution of his fellow man dressed up to look like he’s helping him. There is nothing benevolent about it anymore than there was something benevolent in the Japanese internment, stealing of Native American tribal land, locking people in insane asylums for their own good, or Operation Iraqi Freedom.
