Hey, I’ve been there.
Nice coincidence – We leave this Saturday for Myrtle Beach and we’re flying in to Charleston and spending a day there before driving up the coast. Neither my wife nor I have been there before. Is this pic from the “old town” section? My wife wants to go down there and walk around for a bit.
Scott – honestly, skip Myrtle Beach and just stay in Charleston. Mrtyle Beach is a cheesy tourist trap. But if you’re in Charleston for a short time, check out Broad street for art galleries and historical buildings, and The Battery for old style architecture and a park on the coast featuring old cannons from the revolutionary war. Eat at Hymans seafood on Meeting Street.
Hey, I live there!
Well not THERE. And, more or less.
MG – Heh. I know Myrtle is a tourist trap, but we’re bringing our 2 year old daughter with us, so we’ll probably spend about 90% of our time either at the hotel pool, or out sitting on the beach. Besides, I live about 50 miles from Wisconsin Dells, so I know all about tourist traps!
Thanks for the Charleston suggestions though. I’d heard about the park (Waterfront, right?) before, so maybe we’ll check it out.
fantastic, just down the street is the blind tiger. anyone who is everyone should stop in for a drink on the patio.
