A nighttime landscape is tough. Even a cityscape. But in the wilderness, there is just so much black. One thing to try would be to postprocess by capping the brightness to turn down the headlights and then turn up the exposure on everything to pull out any features captured in the dimly lit landscape. Or an hdr.
