Where in Golden Gate Park was that photo taken?
I’ve been all over that park many times and I don’t recognize the view.
Just curious.
Cheers.
That aint’ Golden Gate Park.
My guess is that it is somewhere in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in Marin County, maybe shot from Bunker Road.
Get off my lawn, you damn kids!
Agreed, tde.
I’ve been up those mountains a couple of times, and I would guess the same.
Cheers.
Definitely not GG Park. I think this is in the Presidio, taken looking north towards Marin. The GG bridge should be off to the left. I don’t think this was taken from the Marin side though I could be wrong about the buildings…but (I’m kind of straining from memory of other side; often when I’m over on Marin side it’s summer and fog obscures everything anyway*) the coast opposite doesn’t really look right for looking south from Marin….
(* typical view from Mt. Tam being layer of cloud with bridge towers sticking out)
Clearly not Golden Gate Park. This looks like it could be the Presidio but it seems too hilly for that.
Sorry guys, but you all fail (except tde). This picture was probably taken from below the scenic overlook at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, on Bunker Rd. The continental land mass in the background is the Easy Bay, and the hilly island on the left is Angel Island. The buildings are part of Fort Baker.
OK, if this is looking EAST, I can see that. That said, “GG Park” I believe refers specifically to the park in SF, not the bigger GG NRA, so unless I’m mistaken the “GG Park” part is definitely misleading.
(In other words, I don’t think I “fail” – it’s definitely not GG Park)
