Paul Perret has been working in New Orleans sculpture for awhile. This particular work is apparently modeled after my aunt, his younger sister-in-law. The family has plenty of photos posed with the statue over the years, though I can't recall one with the statue tipped over. The next day, it was tipped back into the fountain with it's feet sticking up, so I had her take another one with me sitting there looking real surprised at the statue. For a the longest time I had the two pictures side by side on the wall in my office. I thought I had them somewhere on my website, but apparently not. Once when we were in NO, my wife took a picture of me sitting next to that statue.
