I try to enjoy it, considering I had to put my yellow Lab down almost 2 years ago and that broke my soul to carry him to the car, drive to the vet, and hold his paw while his life ended. We had a vizsla for almost 8 years - poor thing became very ill and we had to euthanize her earlier this year. She was absolutely, utterly devoted to my husband, to the point of neurosis. Once I entered the picture, along with cats and then kids, poor Rozsda lost her place. We'll probably have another some day, but I wonder if it's possible to find one with a more laid-back personality. Rozsda was seriously neurotic. A sweetheart, but neurotic.
