Maybe it’s because Obama’s policies aren’t all that different.

There are many Bush haters out there, including this sites author, but one of the cold hard facts of life is that this economy is in the tank because late last year at the very moment Obama became the favorite to win the election, people with money in this country pulled that money down rather than risk losing it to a Marxist government. These people made their money by being smart and they could see what was coming and they’ve been proven right.
Also:
Pot still against the law.
Gitmo still open.
Still in Iraq.
Still in Afgan.
Taxes even higher.
Debt exploding.
Freedom and liberty shrinking faster then ever.
Mad at Bush? Fine, but if you really like libery, Obama is your worst nightmare.

We now have a president who is taking over the banking and car industries .Health care and ‘energy’ are next.I find that more than embarrassing.

In Wallace’s (and others’) defense — Stockholm Syndrome doesn’t vanish overnight.

It doesn’t matter which “party” they are from. They’re all cut from the same Statist Cloth.
And really, who wouldn’t be “statesmen like” with the gig they all get after leaving office.

CIII

Isn’t this simply due to the low level of political discourse and partisan nonsense? Isn’t a title like this akin to being named, the least smelliest shit?

Wow.

If having to read that kind of tripe is part of your job, Radley, you ought to contact Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs about doing an episode on you.

I’m sorry I even clicked on the link, that was wasted time enough.

Bush is cool with the attacks because he knows they are kinda true. He fucked some shit up.

Why embarrassing? He has Cheney to continue his falsehoods.
If the Republican party is willing to allow Cheney, Limbaugh and Gingrich to be their standard bearers, the rest of us should be grateful.

OK, the article is embarrassing in that “reading someone’s middle school diary, cringe-inducing earnestness” sort of way, granted…

But seriously, I’ve been pretty impressed at Mr. Bush’s willingness to STFU and go away. I consider it his most admirable policy by far.

Radley, you do me no favors linking me to offal like this article. My favorite part -

In answering a question from an audience member at a speech in front of the Economic Club of Southwestern Michigan about what he wanted his legacy to be, Bush said: “I hope it’s this: the man showed up with a set of principles and he was unwilling to compromise his soul for the sake of popularity.”?

causing me to wonder “what set of principles”?

C’mon, George thew Lesser, tell us all what those principles you were unwilling to compromise were. I was unable to discern them in eight years, so give me at least a hint.

Quote: “He won’t criticize Obama’s policies,”

I have a hard time believing Bush is keeping his own counsel because of some inherent statesman like quality born into him. My guess is he’s so glad his time is over that he just doesn’t give a shit – he survived! And now, as far as he’s concerned it’s someone elses problem. As far as his “legacy” is concerned he’s got his gang of defenders, most of who are complicit in his wrongdoing, to sing his praises and a general public too unconcerned to give a rats ass how history views him. He’s outta office and outta their lives and that’s all they care about.

I remember that Slick Willie spent the first 6 years blaming every problem the country had Bush #1. Dubya came into office and seldom played the blame game. He just got on with it. Remember Clinton, instead of bowing out spent the whole inauguration day running around Washington giving speeches. Anyway I’m not surprised that some people that like him would also point out that now that his gig is done he’s not trying to take any of the lime-light away from Hussein.
