Color’s great, Radley. Are the saturation levels natural?
Thanks.
I added a little saturation, but not much.
It was a bright day.
A good photo is a good photo, regardless of ‘shopping. You still haven’t answered what kind of camera you’re using. ;)
Beautiful photo – beautiful car. Do you know what it is?
Ah yes, I think that’s one of our barely-used-but-still-expensive trolley stops in the background.
1950 Chevrolet Deluxe?

My guess (and almost 30 years before I was born so go easy on me).
Good ID on the car… but I think it’s a ’49, not a ’50: the trim behind the front wheel is a little more rounded on the ’49s.

I have to agree withPersonFromPorlock – I think it’s a ’49.
One other thing – if you look closely at the visor above the windshield, (in the “Photo of the Day,” above) and compare it to the visors on the ’49 “Deluxe” and ’50 “Deluxe” (pictured in the website you supplied), you’ll notice that it doesn’t match either of them (although the ’49 & ’50 visors resemble each other).
Then, if you look at the visors pictured on the ’48 “Country Club” and ’48 “Stylemaster Panel,” they do match the visor on the “Photo of the Day.”
Whoever built this car probably couldn’t get the right visor (for a ’49), so he substituted the ’48 visor…
This brings back memories – in 1958 (when I was 4) we had a neighbor (who was a serious asshole – I wasn’t fond of him) who had a ’49 Chevy Deluxe. One day, for reasons of my own, I threw a mudball at the car, which splattered all over the rear window.
The S.O.B. ratted me out…
I still remember the spanking I got…
It could be a ’49; I kept thinking it looked like a 50s model so didn’t pay as close attention to that one, but the trim does match better.
Much as I scoff at GM these days, can’t help but appreciate the coachwork of these old models.
