Quote of the Day

Iowa Rep. Steve King, on his opposition to gay marriage:

…it sucks me into the Iowa policy in a way that I haven’t been sucked into it in a while…

My gay friends tell me Craigslist is good for that. Not to be confused with King’s fellow gay marriage opponent Larry Craig’s list, of course. Although there might be some overlap.

“”I’d rather work with Gov. Culver on saving marriage than use it as a lever against him,” King said.”

There’s got to be something there but I’m just not on today.

maybe ‘with a big enough lever, I can rock your world’?

I’m sure King will have a happy ending when this debate is said and done.

“King was a supporter in the Iowa Senate in 1998 of the effort to pass legislation defining marriage as between a man and woman. Although King voted against the bill because of a procedural objection, he has been an opponent of gay marriage.”

The ol’ play-both-sides-of-the-issue-so-nothing-can-be-used-against-me-in-a-campaign. Useful for Iraq War, TARP, TARP II, TARP III-XX, all tax increases, and abortion.

My gay friends tell me “suck” is a gay code word for “blow job”.
