no, no, dude, yes, yes, yes!

OK, there’s been a bit more T&A on TA than usual lately.

    Not a complaint.

Gods, I’d hate to have seen VA Law girls before, then….

There is a union of production value and acting talent which needs to exist to have a video look professional.

A video can be good if not professional if it has either good production, or good acting talent.

This video has neither. It sucks.

Yeah yeah y’all just wish you had thought of it first. Now there is precedent and IP protection as well.

    ok yeah, right…..

It hasn’t been all that long since I was in law school, but I had forgotten how stupid most law students are. This video reminded me.

I agree with Ogre. We were never as cool as we thought we were. And boy, do law school students think they’re cool. And smart. And clever. Any anything else they want to be.

    # 8, 9 yeah this is the type of thing I would have thought was brilliant in my first year. You remember, that year when it’s funny and cool to analogize normal things with “strict liability” or “implied warranties” or whatever.

At least do some good rapping! I want you like Lawrence v. Texas?! How does that even make sense? Haha

    Nick T,

I believe the rapper is saying that he is gay and would like to have anal sex with you.

The MBA version was much better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROlDmux7Tk4

A bit out of date, now… that one was made before the meltdown. Still a hoot, though.

“My heart’s screwed up like the Lochner era.” Good work. Incredibly, unbelievably dorky, but I laughed.

    Dear Critics:

I guess the over-the-top costumes, dancing and lyrics are not enough to clue everyone in on what is going on here. Each year, the Libel Show (the producers of this video) pokes fun at our faculty and students in a musical-like performance featuring skits and such. You miss the point if you picture the performers as self satisfied and wrapped up (pun intended, #9) in how witty and clever they are – or that they are even trying to produce a good music video. In fact, they are playfully ridiculing themselves, their classmates, and their professors for being all of the things you think they are. The great thing is that the audience is both in on the joke and the butt of the joke.

The member of every profession and community are quirky and lame in their own way. We just choose to celebrate our quirky lameness in spectacular fashion.

I thought the Lochner era was the one true libertarian era of the Supreme Court? If so, I am concerned that they consider it screwed up.

Thanks for clarifying. I have a new appreciation of the video now that I view it in that context.

#11. I’m familiar with the decision, I just wasn’t really sure how you could “want” someone like a legal opinion striking down a criminal statute.

#17 I’ve heard that they train you how to think like a lawyer in law school, although if memory serves, I did hear that in Legally Blonde.

Anyway, to throw around some misspelled and probably misused law words: You have a prima facia approach to artistic interpretation, you’re too literal (a trait trained into many lawyers) nobody wants anyone like a legal opinion, go deeper, much deeper (not trying to get dirty here) and think of the subject of the case, how would you sum up LvT (to use the cool kids venacular) in one word? Sodemy! In other words I want to engage in acts allowed under the constitution thanks to the LvT ruling.

Thankfully, much internet research has proven that there are many more acts covered under the sodemy “tent” than just anal intercourse.

Now get out there an sue someone’s pants off.
