Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped push the Hayne/West video story, particularly those of you who posted it on bulletin boards and discussion threads around the web. Also thanks to all the blogs who posted about the story, including Boing Boing, Instapundit, Outside the Beltway, Unqualified Offerings, Popehat, Julian Sanchez, Jacob Grier, Rogier van Bakel, Cato@Liberty, Code Monkey Ramblings, Right Thinking From the Left Coast, Simple Justice, Lippard Blog, Libertarian Lifter, Blank Slate, and Windypundit, among others (sorry if I left you out!)

So far, the story has received almost no play at all in the regular media, save for J.D. Tuccille at the D.C. Examiner website. That’s too bad. Maybe it’ll pick up when the magazine comes out, and when the cover story goes online.

This story is much more damning than “CSI: Mississippi”, yet has received no mainstream attention. I don’t understand why.

Hey now, my post I put up pushed your article up on Google News to having 5 related news articles.

Ok, yeah, I’m nothing close to MSM, but for whatever reason my posts end up listing on Google News. Don’t ask me how that happens.

It was an article that needed more attention and I would have put it up even if you wouldn’t have asked, as I imagine most of the people who did so would have. Thanks for keeping at it Radley!

What a shame nobody in the media is picking this up.

I was aghast when I read the article, and even more appalled at the lack of uptake from the mainstream media. How the hell can this be a non-story to them?

I sent it to Harsanyi at the Denver Post. We’ll see.

I’m waiting on the issue to come out, so I can push the print edition, as well as the online story. I know I’m just another hack blogger, not the news media. But if I’m waiting, I think you’ll see another big push from a number of sites, potentially the news outlets, too.

On another note, I highly recommend J.D. Tuccille be added to the regular reading of anyone concerned with these justice system abuses. I read his stuff whenever he posts. Just more evidence of my longstanding, and oft-repeated, theory that Radley and I have much of the same content in our RSS aggregators.

I dunno. The video’s gonna be a lot less convincing in the print edition :-).
