Leon Lott is clearly a what job. He and that selfish, self-serving baby machine who pumped out 8 babies should hook up. They'd be the perfect storm - two complete idiots who only think about their own personal gain, their own selfish desires and the many ways they can steal from other people to support their sick kinks.

Leon Lott should be locked up, based on his own views of society. He speeds all the time. The "act of speeding" is criminal, it's dangerous and it kills. The terrorist-type effects of act of speeding are not affected by the person doing the speeding. So, in short, Lott is a dangerous person through his regular behavior. On the contrary, the "act of smoking pot" (regardless of the law), doe not kill. Prolonged use of pot, and acts performed while high might be dangerous, but, the simple act of taking a bong hit of pot is benign. Acts of speeding cause other people to die and is a terrorist-like behavior.

Jail Leon Lott and Save the world.

The Finns taught the Red Russians during the 1939 Winter War what a wine bottle full of petrol and tar with a simple wick can do to expensive mechanized armor. The world has never forgotten the lesson of the 'Molotov Cocktail'...except Sheriff Lott, of course.

"The quality of mercy is not strain'd.
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives, and him that takes.
'Tis mightiest in the mightiest; it becomes
The throned monarch better than his crown.
His scepter shows the force of temporal power,
The attribute to awe and majesty,
Wherein doth sit the dread and fear of kings;
But mercy is above this sceptered sway;
It is enthroned in the heart of kings;
It is an attribute to God himself;
And earthly power doth then show likest God's
When mercy seasons justice. "

RE: "war on drugs"

OMG, calm down, I wasn't trying to go back that far in history, to "tricky Dick", or The Wilson era!

I was keeping it fairly recent and voicing my opinion as a medical professional who sees the first hand legal drug pushing on a daily basis, and one of the more recent vocal receivers of this type of "payola" from the drug companies is "Rummie" himself, and his chief henchman and profiteer of the expensive "grass raids" that the DEA perfoms is Gen. Wesley Clark.

No, Rightshu, the "war on drugs" has been around since the Wilson administration.

That's when the Harrison Act was passed (1914). Note that its full name was the "Harrison Narcotics Tax Act." In other words, they were just going to <i>tax</i> the stuff, not make it illegal.

Right.

Of course it, like most of the so-called "gun control" measures, was a strictly racist thing, but we shouldn't worry about that, eh?

"The drafters played on fears of 'drug-crazed, sex-mad negroes' and made references to Negroes under the influence of drugs murdering whites, degenerate Mexicans smoking marijuana, and 'Chinamen' seducing white women with drugs."

@31:

<blockquote>Sheriff Leon Lott probably still believes that “The War on Drugs” wasn’t invented by Donald Rumsfeld & co. to keep getting those fat payments by the drug company lobbyists[...]</blockquote>

Er...you <i>do</i> know that the "War on Drugs" has been around since the Nixon administration, right? People were doing bad things before George W. Bush existed. I mean, he wasn't a good president, but he wasn't the Antichrist either.

I guess the Christian never heard of the only New Testament commandment. "Love your neighbor as yourself" That would pretty much preclude using a 50cal on them! This guy is really twisted. And, as the person above alluded to, knows little about Christianity. He sure has not read his Bible very much! (One preacher I talked to said atheists know the Bible better than most Christians.) I wonder if he feels the same way about people who use alcohol (tea total er?)! Neither it or cannabis are prohibited in the Bible. In fact alcohol is encouraged in certain instances, like mourning. Strong drink is discouraged, but not forbidden! Most of what we hear from religious people is man made legalism. My Bible said you can't buy your way into Heaven! In fact, it is my understanding you can drink all you want, if you truly understand Christianity! That is, until you start beating up the neighbor or attacking his wife! Guess that is why they warned about it!

God knew he could not keep man from alcohol. He couldn't even keep them from the only (one) prohibited fruit in the Garden of Eden! Now man, in all his glory, thinks he can enforce prohibition that God could not! Good luck with that!

@ #24:

I paid attention to the Frederick case pretty closely and never once saw the cost issue brought up. I think there were 16 officers. At 3 hours per officer and $25 per hour (both pretty lowball IMO), that's $1200 without including gas, overtime, etc. just to arrest and search (search and arrest? who knows) some dude who lives by himself and may have a few pot plants. Hell, I'd do it by myself, and safer, for $100. And in the meantime, I'm getting held up at gunpoint, can see exactly where the guy is going, have a good description of his car, and it takes me 5 minutes to talk to 911 and when the cop arrives 20 min later, there's still no APB for the guy I described.

I'm not yet a reflexive cop-hater like most of you guys, but the prioritizing of pot busts, petty traffic stops, and overtime in the name of "officer safety" over actual crimes is getting real fucking old.

Seems like the Sheriff is a threat to the community and country itself. A .50 cal to subdue whom? Pot smokers? And the fact that he is claiming Jesus has his back reeks of insanity. Seperation of church and state right? Well unless you have a .50 cal that is.

Sheriff Leon Lott probably still believes that "The War on Drugs" wasn't invented by Donald Rumsfeld & co. to keep getting those fat payments by the drug company lobbyists to keep us all in "terminal guinnea pig" status so that we won't use what Mother Nature provides us for free in order to "let down" naturally from time to time from the merciless stress that our society has placed upon us.
     "Hold your head high, young Mr. Phelps. For I believe that you want to keep athletes free from performance enhanceing man made drugs, not nature's best fridge-raiding, sofa-breaking, happy grass from the back pasture, or most anywhere in the world that it grows, and has been allowing us small moments of relief for thousands of years!" "Chill out, Leon!"

Here is what should scare the hell out of Richland County: if this cop is dumb enough to own a 50 cal, it means that he does not understand the first thing about any of the weapons in his dept. He is too stupid to own a kitchen knife. He should not have a permit to drive a car.
