Noncompliant Nipple Ring Sold Separately

The latest from Playmobil:

The woman traveler stops by the security checkpoint. After placing her luggage on the screening machine, the airport employee checks her baggage. The traveler hands her spare change and watch to the security guard and proceeds through the metal detector. With no time to spare, she picks up her luggage and hurries to board her flight!

The customer reviews are priceless.  Save on shipping by ordering it with the Playmobil Police Checkpoint and Playmobil SWAT playsets in time for your favorite little authoritarian’s birthday!

Good heavens ! I thought this was a joke ! You’re right, the reviews are great (as is the title of your post).

Does this come with the model strip search machine (MMW scanner), or is that an extra add-on?

Does the SWAT set come with a menacing puppy?

    “The customer reviews are priceless.”

That’s putting it mildly. The reviews are some of the most laugh-out-loud funny stuff I’ve read in a long time. There’s at least a handful of Agitator readers there . . .

they should have the optional ‘start an ebay business with your plundered contraband’ option, too…

Funny and true. Its an older set no longer offered (its combined now with the airport terminal set http://store.playmobilusa.com). Love the comments…too much!

The comments are great, but it makes me wonder if there’s that many people that think like that, why aren’t there more protest or riots or whatever?

It kind of reminds me of the Fark Politics tab… some good stories and ideas about the free market and liberty. And those posters get shot down over and over again. It’s sad really.

Do they also come bundled together as “Paymobil Police State?”

What happens when you try to walk this doll (http://www.astrolabe.com/product/2746/Fulla_Walking_Doll_(w__cart).html) through the checkpoint.

    Just asking.

If the conclusion makes no sense, check the premise.

There aren’t that many people that think like that, Ben.

I can see that much fun could be had combining that set with my son’s Playmobil Viking Ship.
“I’m sorry sir, you can’t bring that battleaxe on board.”
    “Arrrrrrrrrr” *Thwack*

    Nick,

Is that a Playmobil Minnesota Vikings ship? I might have to buy that one too.

  13. #13 |  Sithmonkey |

    Hoal E. Shyte!?!?

Next they’ll come out with a Guantanamo Bay set, with a tiny plastic tank for weeble-wobble water boardin’…

Is a dog included with the SWAT set?

  15. #15 |  BobG |

Shouldn’t there be little rubber gloves for doing cavity searches?

@Ben: Cynical is right. The problem you’re seeing is selection bias. People who think like that are most inclined to seek out occasions to mock the government, so you see more mocking than the raw number of people who hold those feelings would otherwise indicate.

I suspect I disagree significantly with Cynical, though, when I say that the problem is educational rather than endemic. Most people just don’t think about the problems enough to realize the issues.

@Nick: Capital One is currently running one of their commercials with the Viking raiders that shows one of them piling up battle axes, knives and whatnot on one of those conveyors, then walking through and having it go off. It’s pretty funny.

I just knew there had to be a catch, John.

Just to be fair, though, selection bias works both ways — minority and majority viewpoints, as evidenced by the comments linked to in the post about El Paso City Council attempting to start a dialogue on the reform of narcotics laws. Lots of “drug warriors” coming out of the woodwork there favoring the FedGov over local gov.

Selection bias does have a multiplying effect that distorts reality, I agree.

Actually, though, I’ll get behind you and agree that education is a big part of the problem — that and willful ignorance, herd mentality, peer pressure to conform and fear of the unknown.

Might say it’s endemic for these reasons.

I bet Bill Griffith is gonna grab “noncompliant niple ring sold separately” and have Zippy say it in one of the strips.

Yeah, niple ring. You heard me.

Is a dog included with the SWAT set?

Sorry. That didn’t make any sense. The dog would have to be part of the innocent family set.

  21. #21 |  Comrade Dread |

Gunned down puppies, crying children, tasered invalids, and grandma face down bound in riot cuffs not included.

  22. #22 |  freedomfan |

I don’t think the set would be complete without this Playmobil accessory.

  23. #23 |  Big Chief |

Radley, thanks for this post. It’s always a good day when you can use Nipple Ring in the title. It helps offset the depression hangover from Stimulus Thursday (Thanks Reason!).

I want the Waterboarding playset and Dick Cheney w/ Kung Fu grip–constitution toilet paper sold separately.

  25. #25 |  Eric H |

If they actually included an X-ray Fluorescent (XRF) scanner inside this thing, you could use this toy to check for lead and phthalates in other toys, and then lock up the criminals responsible for selling it all to children.

Did I just go back in time? This was on the radar last year. Which is like olden tymes on the internetz.
