Irony
Friday, January 9th, 2009My pooch Harper actually did the very same thing when she was a pup, only the book was The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Raising Your Dog.
The first tip on the first page should have been, “When you aren’t around, keep this book out of reach of your dog.”
(Thanks to the Agitatrix for the tip.)

My dog Tank (a boxer/lab mix) did that to the same book yours did, Radley. I still have it, coverless and gnawed-upon though it is.
Makes sense. If you needed the book, you both had unruly dogs to begin with! I hope you “whipped” them into shape!
After my dog did this, I sensed his anger. I sat down to talk with him about resolving these issues. I made my case as best I could. I told him that this negotiation was a “give and take” process.
He licked himself and left the room.
Of course, there’s also “Training your adopted dog.” (Interestingly mis-spelled in the URL.)

Oooo, my puppy did this. To a library book, to my horror. She’s my first dog – I had NO IDEA they would eat books. Fortunately, it was an inexpensive paperback. Now, I leave absolutely no paper products whatsover within snagging range. =)
The library let me keep my gnawed copy. It’s in my scrapbook box along with her baby teeth. Good times.
What, no sense of humor?! (-1 vote) That is why you buy your puppy chew toys!
