Over at Hit & Run, I have an update on Snowzilla, including the awesome snowman protest outside of Anchorage City Hall.
it hardly seems right that Snowzilla doesn’t have a Mrs. Snowzilla a few blocks away… Maybe a few cousins… kids….
This is not gonna go well for city hall!
My dad, a police chief, had a similar problem in his town a couple of years ago; there was this one guy who had one of those mega light displays.
That would be fine, but the guy lived on a street that had semi-heavy traffic, and so during nighttime the traffic would be backed up forever with both cars and foot traffic everywhere. The city kept pressuring him to rent some cops to help with traffic, but he refused.
Then, one day, some poor old lady got hit by one of the cars and died, and the guy owning the house ended up getting sued for a considerable amount of money.
I still think that it is asinine that the city is trying to stop Snowzilla (and I think the efforts to save Snowzilla is fucking adorable), but this story strikes me as much more than your standard Nanny State “we want to meddle in your lives for arbitrary reasons” stories.
All right, let me se if I can do this…

Oh no! They say he’s got to go–go, go, Snowzilla!
That was real good, but I gotta have more cowbell.
